I'm Zach Kerr, a defensive lineman for the NFL's Denver Broncos.
As you might know, the fight against sarcoidosis is a cause that is important to me. My mom, Tinya Kerr, has battled this disease for 17 years. You can read her story here: stopsarcoidosis.org/zachkerr
This year for the NFL's My Cause, My Cleats initiative I chose to represent FSR on the field. I wore custom purple cleats to raise awareness for sarcoidosis and promote my campaign to Sack Sarcoidosis.
As a result of the My Cause, My Cleats initiative, FSR was able to start the Tinya Kerr Research Fund in honor of my mother with a generous gift of $100,000 from an anonymous donor. Now, fans and supporters like you can help deepen the impact of this project by donating to the Tinya Kerr Research Fund right now.
Please consider joining my team and let's SACK SARCOIDOSIS!
Sarcoidosis is a rare, often chronic inflammatory disorder that causes the formation of granulomas, or clumps of inflammatory cells. This can occur in almost any organ in the body, most commonly affecting the lungs, lymph nodes, skin and eyes. There is currently no known cure for this disease and treatment options are limited and often ineffective.
About FSR and Team KISS:
KISS stands for Kick In to Stop Sarcoidosis, and that’s what you'll be doing by supporting my page. FSR is the leading nonprofit dedicated to finding a cure for this disease and improving care and treatment options for sarcoidosis patients. The funds all go directly to FSR and their programs for improving patient education, supporting patients and their caretakers, and of course, funding research to find better treatment options and one day, a cure.
