The Love Between Father and Daughter Knows No Distance

Valerie Bane
WELCOME!!
There is no greater gift that the world could ever give to a girl than that of a loving father. I am blessed with one who has a heart of gold. My Dad is the bravest man I know. Even in the face of dealing with this mysterious disease, he stays positive and engaged with life. He was, is, and will always be my hero. So, my fight to cure sarcoidosis is extremely personal. I wish there were currently a cure so that my Dad could be a benefactor. But, with your help, we may be able to see one down the road.
You know him. He's your teacher, your boss, your mentor, your volunteer, your board member, your tutor, your recruiter, your patient, your customer, your editor, your tax guy, your photographer, your counselor, your brother-in-Christ, your friend. He's Dad, Hubby, Ron, Ronnie, Ronald or Mr. Bane. Would you please join me on this journey and give in his honor, so that others may be helped? Let's make this OUR fight.
Sarcoidosis is a rare, often chronic inflammatory disorder that causes the formation of granulomas, or clumps of inflammatory cells. This can occur in almost any organ in the body, most commonly affecting the lungs, lymph nodes, skin and eyes. While this disease affects as many as 200,000 Americans, there is currently no known cure and treatment options are limited and often ineffective.
I have chosen to support the Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research (FSR) by fundraising for Team KISS!
KISS stands for Kick In to Stop Sarcoidosis, and that’s what you'll be doing by supporting my page. FSR is the leading nonprofit dedicated to finding a cure for this disease and improving care and treatment options for sarcoidosis patients. The funds all go directly to FSR and their programs for improving patient education, supporting patients and their caretakers, and of course, funding research to find better treatment options and one day, a cure.
Why "www.bit.ly/skyline5way" as the web address for my page? My Dad grew up in Cincinnati. If you ask one of the locals, the eigth wonder of the world is surely a dish at Skyline Chilli called a 5 Way; chilli heaped with spaghetti noodles, kidney beans, secret chilli sauce, onions and cheddar cheese. Yum!
Please consider helping me reach my goal. Together, we can Stop Sarcoidosis!
