Kick In to Stop Sarcoidosis in Memory of Patricia Gail

Bridgette Eaton

Bridgette Eaton

Thank you for visiting my page!

As many of you know, my mom (pictured below) lost her fight against sarcoidosis (pronounced SAR-COY-DOE-SIS), which is an inflammatory disease characterized by the formation of granulomas—tiny clumps of inflammatory cells—in one or more organs of the body, which often results in a host of debilitating symptoms and some cases, even death. However, I fight in her memory and in honor of those still fighting, especially during the month of April, which is Sarcoidosis Awareness Month. I ask that you join me wearing a purple ribbon, spreading awareness, and donating to the Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research (FSR).

FSR is dedicated to accelerating research efforts to help find a cure for sarcoidosis. At FSR, every month is Sarcoidosis Awareness Month, and they rely on the help of communities to relay this message. Whether you are a patient still awaiting a diagnosis, a chronic sufferer of the disease, someone looking to understand the experiences of their loved one, or just a member of the general public, you can take a proactive role by keeping the conversation going all year long, getting involved in raising awareness and funds for sarcoidosis research.

For those actively fighting the disease, please see the resources below.
