Juni Johnson-Sandoval

Thank you for visiting my page!

My sister Juni has been living with Sarcoidosis since I was in high school. She provided me with so much care and support then up to this day. We used to rent video games (of that's any inclination on time frame) and stay up on Friday nights trying to beat Chakkan the Forever Man or whatever obscure game Sega released. She was there as my friend and my sister. We laughed about randomness, made inside jokes, listened to music, danced, ate Roundtable it was one of my best friendships that kept me here. That kept me pushing.

She's a freaking warrior!!! Shes so clever and witty. Simply fun to be around in any situation you'll just be laughing. She's the only person who gets my silly animal impersonations. She's someone that has been through some really tough times but she's a fighter!! I wish I was like her. That's why she hasn't really told anyone about what she's going through. She has irreversible lung damage from Sarcoidosis. Her doctors have said that if her current treatments do not work she will be looking at a lung transplant. She's only 47. There's no cure for this disease but I hope the donations can help her if she needs to take time off work. She is the sole provider for her family on top of dealing with health issues. See I told you she was a warrior!! I just want to help her anyway I can with your help. If you want to learn more about the disease, the default message is below. I just want my sister to know I love her and I will fight for her! 💖

Sarcoidosis is a rare, often chronic inflammatory disorder that causes the formation of granulomas, or clumps of inflammatory cells. This can occur in almost any organ in the body, most commonly affecting the lungs, lymph nodes, skin and eyes. While this disease affects as many as 200,000 Americans, there is currently no known cure and treatment options are limited and often ineffective.

I have chosen to support the Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research (FSR) by fundraising for Team KISS!

KISS stands for Kick In to Stop Sarcoidosis, and that’s what you'll be doing by supporting my page. FSR is the leading nonprofit dedicated to finding a cure for this disease and improving care and treatment options for sarcoidosis patients. The funds all go directly to FSR and their programs for improving patient education, supporting patients and their caretakers, and of course, funding research to find better treatment options and one day, a cure.

Please consider helping me reach my goal. Together, we can Stop Sarcoidosis!
