Gene's Swing For Sarcoidosis

Sarcoidosis is a rare disease that causes small clusters of inflammatory cells, called granulomas, to form in different parts of the body—most commonly the lungs, lymph nodes, eyes, and skin. The exact cause is unknown, but it’s believed to be related to an abnormal immune response. Symptoms can vary widely depending on which organs are affected, but common signs include fatigue, shortness of breath, a persistent cough, and skin rashes. In many cases, sarcoidosis goes away on its own, but some people may need treatment with medications to reduce inflammation. It's not contagious, but it can lead to serious complications if not properly managed. While most people with sarcoidosis recover or manage the disease well, a small percentage (estimated around 5%) may develop life-threatening complications. These are usually tied to how severely the disease affects critical organs over time, for our dad it was impacting his heart.

Any donation is greatly appreciated and will help prevent Sarcoidosis from taking the lives of loved ones.

Thank you,

Brianna, Dylan, Taylor and Nicholas
