2024 NYC Marathon - Rally for Raff

Caton Raffensperger

Caton Raffensperger

As most of you know, my dad was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis while I was in high school. In the 10 years since his diagnosis, it has greatly impacted the way that he is able to live his life. While we are grateful for the treatment and care he receives, he still deals with chronic pain and fatigue.

My dad is not alone. Sarcoidosis impacts approximately 1.2 million people worldwide and 200,000 in the U.S. People living with sarcoidosis wake up each day and face the challenges of living with a rare disease including the symptoms and side effects like overwhelming fatigue, trouble breathing, chest pain, headaches, joint pain, skin lesions and rashes, an overall feeling of sickness, along with other physical and mental symptoms that patients experience living with sarcoidosis. Currently, there is no known cause and limited treatment options.

FSR is the leading international organization dedicated to finding a cure for sarcoidosis and improving care for sarcoidosis patients through research, education, and support. Since its establishment in 2000, FSR has fostered over $6 million in sarcoidosis-specific research efforts.

This year, I will be supporting Team Rally for Sarc runners who have been selected to represent the Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research (FSR) at the 2024 TCS New York City Marathon on November 3rd, 2024!

I am so proud of my dad for continuing to show up and “win the day” and I’m honored to get to run the TSC NYC marathon for a cause so close to mine and my family’s heart. I hope you will consider supporting Team Rally for Sarc this year by making a financial contribution to my page as I seek to support FSR and all those impacted by sarcoidosis. Your donation, of any amount, will not only help Team Rally for Sarc achieve their goals, but will help make more patient support, and one day, a cure for sarcoidosis possible.

Thank you!

Win the Day,
Caton
