Welcome to my “Run Your Own Race” NYC Marathon fundraising page for the Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research (FSR)!
As a proud board member of FSR and someone living with sarcoidosis, I'm thrilled to be running the NYC Marathon on Sunday, November 3 to raise awareness and funds for this rare disease. Your support will help bring us closer to a cure, and spur me along 26.2 miles through the greatest city in the world!
FSR is the leading international organization dedicated to finding a cure for sarcoidosis and improving care for sarcoidosis patients through research, education, and support. Since its establishment in 2000, FSR has fostered over $6 million in sarcoidosis-specific research efforts.
Sarcoidosis impacts approximately 1.2 million people worldwide and 200,000 in the US (including me). People living with sarcoidosis wake up each day and face the challenges of living with a rare disease including the symptoms and side effects like overwhelming fatigue, trouble breathing, chest pain, headaches, joint pain, skin lesions and rashes, an overall feeling of sickness, along with other physical and mental symptoms that patients experience living with sarcoidosis.
Currently, there is no known cause and limited treatment options. But despite that, I “run my own race” not just for me, but for those sarc warriors who simply aren’t able to.
I hope you will consider supporting my “Run Your Own Race” Team this year by making a financial contribution to my page as I seek to support FSR and all those impacted by sarcoidosis. Your donation, of any amount, will not only help Team Rally for Sarc achieve their goals, but will help make more patient support, and one day, a cure for sarcoidosis possible.
